By air

Kos International Airport (Hippocrates), near Antimachia in the centre of the island, has many direct flights from Europe in summer and flights from Athens. Tigaki is about 20 minutes away by taxi or transfer.

The nearest port is Kos Town, about 20 minutes away by road. It has ferries and catamarans to Rhodes, Kalymnos, Leros, Patmos, Nisyros and Piraeus, and boats to Bodrum in Turkey. Mastichari, near the airport, has short ferries to Kalymnos.

Getting around

Optional. Kos is fairly flat, with buses linking Tigaki with Kos Town and the main resorts, and cycling is popular. A car or scooter is useful for the mountain villages of Zia and Pyli, the beaches of the south coast and Kefalos.
