By air
Athens International Airport is about three hours away by road. For the western part of Dorida, around Lake Mornos and the coast at Eratini, Araxos Airport near Patras, with seasonal flights, is about an hour and a half via the Rio–Antirrio bridge.
By ferry
There are no island ferries nearby. On the Corinthian Gulf, a car ferry links Agios Nikolaos, west of Itea, with Aigio in the Peloponnese, and the Rio–Antirrio bridge, about an hour and a half west, connects with Patras and its ferries to Italy and the Ionian islands.
Getting around
Essential. Dorida’s mountain villages, Lake Mornos, the Vardousia mountains and the quiet coast of the Corinthian Gulf are linked by winding roads with very few buses, so a car is the only practical way to explore.
