Getting to & around Adelianos Kampos

By air

Crete’s two main airports, Chania and Heraklion, both have many direct flights from Europe in summer and flights from Athens all year. Adelianos Kampos is about an hour and a quarter by road from Chania airport and about an hour and a quarter from Heraklion airport.

The nearest port is Souda, near Chania, about 50 minutes away by road. It has daily ferries to Piraeus, often overnight; Heraklion, about an hour and a quarter east of Rethymno, has ferries to Piraeus and summer fast boats to Santorini and the Cyclades.

Optional. Frequent buses run along the north coast between Rethymno, Adelianos Kampos, Chania and Heraklion. A car is recommended for exploring the mountain villages, Arkadi monastery and the south-coast beaches such as Preveli and Plakias.
