Kalamata International Airport, between Kalamata and Messini, has direct summer flights from many European cities and some flights from Athens. Koroni is about 50 minutes away by taxi or transfer.

There are no regular passenger ferries from Koroni. The nearest useful ports are Kyllini, about two hours north, for Zakynthos and Kefalonia, and Gythio and Neapoli in Laconia for Kythira.

Recommended. Buses link Koroni with Kalamata, but services are limited, and the region’s beaches, castles and villages, from the Mani to Pylos and Methoni, are spread out. A car is the easiest way to explore.
