Thessaloniki International Airport (Makedonia), with flights from across Europe and from Athens all year, is the gateway to northern Greece. Nea Kallikrateia is about 25 minutes away by taxi or transfer.
By ferry
There are no regular island ferries from Nea Kallikrateia. In summer, cruise boats explore the coast, and from Ouranoupoli boats sail along Mount Athos, which only male pilgrims with a permit may visit; Tripiti has a short ferry to Ammouliani. For Thasos, Kavala is about two and a half hours away.
Getting around
Optional. Nea Kallikrateia is close to Thessaloniki, with frequent KTEL buses to the city, and the seafront is walkable. A car is recommended for day trips to the beaches of Kassandra and Sithonia and for exploring Halkidiki at your own pace.
