Terms and Definitions
BookingA Booking is created when a User, having accepted these Terms, completes the steps on greekhotels.gr to generate and submit a reservation request for a hotel stay. By completing a Booking, the User agrees to these Terms and the hotel’s policies as communicated via the confirmation.
VoucherA Voucher is the electronic confirmation of a Booking, sent to the email address provided by the User during the Booking process. The Voucher includes all relevant details of the Booking, which may include:
• Hotel name and address
• Booking date
• Check-in and check-out dates
• Room category and bed type
• Any applicable down payment
• Cancellation terms, including fees for late cancellations or no-shows
• Additional information determined by the hotel
The Voucher serves as the official confirmation of the Booking and should be presented upon check-in at the hotel.
A No-Show occurs when the User fails to arrive at the Hotel and check in at the time specified in the Voucher, or at any other time that has been formally confirmed by the Hotel in writing.
RoomA Room refers to any accommodation unit available for Booking at a Hotel, including, where applicable, houses, cottages, apartments, or individual beds in shared spaces.
HotelThe Hotel refers to any premises offering accommodation, such as hotels, guesthouses, resorts, hostels, or similar establishments. Depending on context, “Hotel” may also refer to the legal entity or individual that owns or operates the establishment, or any authorized third party acting as an agent or distributor of the Hotel’s accommodations.
Booking Cancellation PolicyThe Booking Cancellation Policy consists of the Hotel’s rules regarding the modification or cancellation of a reservation by the User. It includes any consequences for non-compliance, such as fees or charges associated with late cancellations or No-Shows. The cancellation policy is communicated to the User during the Booking process and reflected in the Voucher.
UserThe User is an individual aged 18 or older who has accepted these Terms and is legally entitled to make a Booking through the Service and complete payment for it.
ServiceThe Service is the online hotel booking platform provided by greekhotels.gr, including the Website, related websites, downloadable software, and mobile applications. Access to the Service is granted to the User under a free, simple, non-exclusive license, subject to these Terms.
WebsiteThe Website refers to the public online resource located at www.greekhotels.gr.
Hotel ServicesHotel Services include the accommodation and any additional services explicitly stated in the Voucher. They do not include other services provided by the Hotel at the User’s request that are not specified in the Voucher.
General ProvisionsGreekhotels.gr operates as an online platform that provides Users with access to information about hotels and Hotel Services and facilitates the Booking process through trusted hotel and accommodation Booking Partners.
The Company provides these services and ensures that Users can:
• Browse and search the Hotel database
• Access accurate Hotel information
• Make Bookings and complete payments through Ratehawk
• Access customer support guidance related to using the Service
Upon completion of a Booking, the User receives a confirmation from the Company as well as the Booking Partner. From that point, the legal relationship for the reservation and provision of Hotel Services is between the User and the Hotel.
Greekhotels.gr facilitates the process but does not participate in the provision of Hotel Services and is not responsible for the Hotel’s performance, availability, or quality of services.
Greekhotels.gr’s responsibilities to the User are limited to providing access to the Hotel database, technical support for using the Service, and guidance on contacting the Booking Partner or the Hotel.
Any refunds, changes, or cancellations are subject to the Hotel’s policies, as outlined in the Voucher.
All essential terms of a Booking—including cancellation policies, modification rules, and consequences of a No-Show—are determined by the Hotel and communicated to the User in the booking process and in the Voucher at the time of Booking.
By making a Booking, the User confirms that they have read and agreed to:
• The Hotel’s policies as provided in the booking process
• These Terms and Conditions, in their version effective at the time of Booking
All payments for Bookings made through Greekhotels.gr are processed directly by the Booking Partner, the trusted booking and payment partner.
Greekhotels.gr facilitates the booking process and provides access to the payment system, but does not store or process payment card information.
The User may be required to provide valid bank card details during the Booking process to guarantee the reservation. The Hotel or Booking Partner may verify the card and, if the card cannot be validated or has insufficient funds, the reservation may be canceled or denied.
By providing card details, the User confirms that they are authorized to use the card and agree to comply with the Booking terms and conditions of the selected Hotel, including cancellation, modification, and No-Show policies.
The Hotel or Booking Partner is responsible for:
• Securing payment card data and processing transactions according to PCI DSS standards.
• Handling authorization, fraud checks, and any currency conversion related to the transaction.
• Collecting any local taxes (e.g., tourist taxes) that may apply at check-in.
Greekhotels.gr is not responsible for unauthorized use of bank cards, payment disputes, or issues arising during payment processing. All financial obligations related to the Booking, including currency exchange differences or local taxes, are the responsibility of the User.
For Bookings where payment is made directly at the Hotel, the Hotel may issue local tax receipts, and Greekhotels.gr does not issue VAT invoices, as it is not a party to the payment transaction.
The possibility to cancel or amend a Booking, as well as any fees or deductions associated with such changes, is determined solely by the Hotel and/or Booking Partner according to their Booking cancellation policies. Greekhotels.gr facilitates access to these policies and provides guidance on contacting the Booking Partner and the Hotel, but does not set, enforce, or guarantee cancellation terms.
To cancel or amend a Booking, the User should:
• Follow the instructions in their Voucher, or
• Contact the Booking Partner or the Hotel directly, using the customer support contact information provided in the Voucher.
A Booking is considered cancelled once the User receives a confirmation of cancellation from the Booking Partner or the Hotel at the email address provided during booking.
The User assumes any risks or additional costs that may arise from cancelling or amending a Booking, such as changes to the Booking rate, additional fees, or the need to make a new Booking. Greekhotels.gr recommends that Users verify the consequences of cancellation or amendment with the Booking Partner or the Hotel before taking action.
For pre-paid Bookings, any refund due to the User will be processed by the Booking Partner or the Hotel in accordance with their policies. The timing of refunds may vary depending on banking procedures and is not controlled by Greekhotels.gr. Greekhotels.gr is not responsible for delays or discrepancies in the refund process.
The User is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of all personal data provided during the Booking process, including data for third parties on whose behalf the Booking is made. The User assumes all risks related to errors or inaccuracies in the submitted information.
Greekhotels.gr is committed to protecting the personal data of Users and any third parties included in a Booking, in accordance with applicable data protection laws. For a Booking to be successfully completed, the User must provide consent for the processing of personal data by accepting the Terms & Conditions at the final stage of the Booking process.
The User agrees to use the Service solely for the purpose of making a Booking for themselves or for third parties for whom they are authorized to make a reservation.
By making a Booking on behalf of a third party, the User confirms that the third party is aware of the Booking, has been informed about these Terms, and consents to the relevant Booking conditions.
Greekhotels.gr provides Users with access to hotel information and the ability to make Bookings through the collaborating Booking Partners. While we strive to ensure accurate and reliable information, the Company is not responsible for the performance, quality, or availability of Hotel Services, or for any losses, damages, or inconvenience caused by the Hotel.
The Hotel may refuse accommodation to underage guests without legal representatives in accordance with local law. Users booking on behalf of minors are responsible for confirming whether self-settlement is permitted at the time of Booking. Greekhotels.gr is not liable for any refusal of the Hotel in such cases.
If a Hotel is unable to accommodate the User (through no fault of greekhotels.gr), the Hotel may offer alternative accommodation of equivalent or higher category. Users should promptly inform the Hotel’s customer support if they are not accommodated as specified in their Voucher.
Greekhotels.gr may, but is not obligated to, assist the User in identifying alternative accommodations. The User may accept the suggested alternatives or select another Hotel independently. If the User chooses an independent alternative, they must inform customer support, and greekhotels.gr will facilitate the refund of the original Booking amount paid.
• Greekhotels.gr is not responsible for the Hotel’s refusal or inability to provide services, including pre-paid Bookings or No-Shows.
• Greekhotels.gr is not liable for errors, inaccuracies, or incompleteness in Hotel descriptions, prices, room availability, photos, or Booking policies.
• Bookings may be cancelled by Greekhotels.gr if system errors result in incorrect information; in such cases, the User will be refunded the Booking amount, and releases Greekhotels.gr from further liability.
• All Hotel information, including rates, room availability, and policies, is provided by Hotels or their authorized partners.
• Users should exercise caution, review all details in the Voucher, and consider publicly available reviews and ratings when selecting a Hotel.
• Greekhotels.gr provides the Service “as is” and does not provide warranties regarding accuracy, completeness, or suitability for any particular purpose.
By using the Service, the User acknowledges that Greekhotels.gr acts as a facilitator and information provider, and agrees to release the Company from responsibility for any circumstances beyond its control, including incorrect or incomplete data provided by the User or third parties, or breaches of the Hotel’s terms and applicable laws.
